The painting plays with the idea that everything is ruled by the law of opposites, including gender. At first glance the painting is just a collection of stylised figures, mostly female. This surreal artwork immediately strikes a pleasing note but, like all of Iustinian’s work, it has hidden depths. Like many other famous optical illusions, if you view “Bipolarity” from a different angle you get an entirely different image. For example, if you view the kneeling women: when reversed, you can plainly see a man’s face, split in two, and so on. Feminine and masculine are opposite poles, yet they are both present in varying degrees in all of us. That is the deeper meaning of this cleverly executed surreal art illusion.

The image can be a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the actual concept of the image its true art to any viewers eyes. Now the theme here is extremely tough topic to come by and not offend someone, but since you did it in such a way that makes this bipolar malady into something beautiful its hard to stay mad! the technique is one of the most professional i’ve seen on deivantart these past two years i’ve been online. It is also one of the most original pieces i’ve seen on here, there is nothing like it on the whole site. Using images within images to portray what you are feeling is one of the most difficult forms of art i’ve seen and you’ve done quite and outstanding job on it here. At first i saw a jumble of colors that made quite an impact on my eyes, but i wanted to see closer because i saw the circles inside the image, and low and behold i saw the rest of the people in the image! a truly fine piece of work that must have taken quite awhile to accomplish. A true masterpiece deserving the utmost pride. Great Job.
